Next generation of souvenir videos sees World first at the Alton Towers Resort
YourDay, the Award winning technology that captures your day on DVD
The looks of anticipation, the nervous laughter and the squeals of families having fun as they hurtle through the sky are being captured on film for the first time ever as YourDay invites guests at the Alton Towers Resort to star in their very own souvenir movie.
Available exclusively at the UK’s favourite theme park, YourDay captures and records personalised footage of guests as they enjoy a unique combination of attractions, braving some of the UK’s scariest rollercoasters and family favourites such as Spinball Whizzer.
As guests enter the Park, they are offered a YourDay RFID (radio frequency identification) wristband to wear while enjoying all the Park has to offer. The wristbands are read by the YourDay RFID network as guests walk through the park and go on the rides, matching their personalised footage with their wristbands.
The pioneering technology allows actual footage to be captured on six popular attractions at Alton Towers including Air, Corkscrew, Nemesis, Oblivion, Rita - Queen of Speed and Spinball Whizzer.
Over 100 RFID antennas, 36 cameras, 6km of data networking cable and 140 computer servers have been installed to ensure the best quality footage can be recorded. On high-speed attractions, the video cameras use enhanced frames per second and super slow motion to effectively capture personalised footage.
In under five minutes, guests can purchase their unique YourDay DVD at the YourDay shop on Towers Street. Visitors also get the chance to preview their movies before deciding which rides they want included on their DVD. Guests can choose between a personalised multi-ride DVD for £19.99 or a single ride DVD for £8.99.
Whichever souvenir DVD they choose, it is the perfect way to capture their memories and preserve their day at the Alton Towers Resort forever.
